Interning at the World Green Organisation (WGO) is a great way to achieve this. Through this internship \u00a0\/ overseas volunteer, you can get professional experience in environmental policy advocacy, research and campaigning, marketing communications, or digital media. You will receive training by our staff and be an essential part of WGO numerous projects which include the;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/site-eng\/goals-green-office\/\" target=\"_blank\">GOALS Programme<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/site\/lesswaste\/\" target=\"_blank\">Great Eagle X WGO Less Waste Let\u2019s Do It \u2013 3R Ambassador Scheme Programme<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/site\/fooddonation\/\" target=\"_blank\">Linking Food with Love Project<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/site\/ep-support\/\" target=\"_blank\">Energy Poverty Community Programme<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/site-eng\/triathlon\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Green Heroes &#8211; Triathlon Race &amp; Bazaar<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/site-eng\/social-innovation-inventor\/\" target=\"_blank\">Social Innovation Inventor \u2013 Competition for Innovative Design Competition<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/site\/event\/\" target=\"_blank\">Seminar and Forum <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>WGO\u2019s student internship \u00a0\/ overseas volunteer programme is open year-round on a voluntary basis. Through this internship \u00a0\/ overseas volunteer, you can increase knowledge and enhance various skills including but not limited to, waste audit, green office audit, policy analysis, and event planning. Whenever possible, students will have the opportunity to work with different projects and gain valuable experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/linked\/internship\/internship-1.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" \/>Depending on operational needs, student interns will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carry out green audits for companies;<\/li>\n<li>Assist companies in improving environmental measures in their office;<\/li>\n<li>Help prepare assessment reports to submit to the United Nations in order to apply for the \u2018Better World Company\u2019 label;<\/li>\n<li>Assist in planning, promotion, and execution of WGO\u2019s 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) community programmes;<\/li>\n<li>Administer surveys about energy use to energy-poor households;<\/li>\n<li>Educate households on energy-efficient practices and energy saving tips; and,<\/li>\n<li>Support other WGO projects, events, and functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/thewgo.org\/linked\/internship\/internship-2.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" \/><\/strong>Interns \/ Overseas Volunteers we look for:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sub-degree \/ degree holders in any disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Cantonese (*preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Office)<\/li>\n<li>Overseas students are welcome to apply<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To learn more about our internship\u00a0\u00a0\/ overseas volunteer opportunities, please send your resume to <a href=\"mailto:internship@thewgo.org\">internship@thewgo.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong> *Application Deadlines for Specific Internship \u00a0\/ Overseas Volunteer Periods:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Summer internship \u00a0\/ overseas volunteer: before end of April every year<\/li>\n<li>Winter internship \u00a0\/ overseas volunteer: before end of November every year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>[Personal data provided by applicants will be used strictly for processing internship \u00a0\/ overseas volunteer application. This experience helped me to become more familiar with real work situations. It also gave me an idea about various environmental protection issues in Hong Kong and how important it is to act green in our daily lives.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><div class=\"ezcol-divider\"><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ezcol ezcol-two-third\">\n<blockquote><p>My internship experience contained a lot of fun activities and experiences which will be useful for my future development. In WGO, I learned a lot working on different projects and gained office work experience and desktop research skills. During the internship, WGO provided several green tours for us. These tours helped broaden my horizons. This internship increased my knowledge of the recycling industry and enhanced my work skills. I learnt more about environmental protection which was very different from my business major. It also gave us opportunities to explore Hong Kong in a different way. We got to see the life of energy poverty households, learned about recycling practices in the recycling industry amongst others. Those experiences are what I treasured the most during this internship.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><div class=\"ezcol-divider\"><\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ezcol ezcol-two-third\">\n<blockquote><p>This internship provided real work experiences for us to learn how to cooperate with other colleagues and achieve different projects\u2019 missions. Doing research and joining different projects in WGO also made me think more about environmental and social issues which are related to our daily life.
