WGO’s response to the Clean Air Plan for Hong Kong

World Green Organisation welcomes the launch of the “Clean Air Plan for Hong Kong” led by the Environment Bureau of HKSAR. The plan lists out the timeline and action points for Hong Kong to meet the New Air Quality Objectives with the collaboration of different government bureaux, demonstrating the determination of the government to improve local air quality.

However, the projected NO2 concentration level in 2020 is around 80 micro gram per cubic meter which is 100% higher than the new AQO standard for NO2. WGO urges the government to strengthen the roadside air quality measures to lower the concentration level of NO2 as soon as possible.
