Mutual recognition between GOALS and Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence
Our green office programme “United Nations Millennium Development Goals – Green Office Awards Labelling Scheme” (GOALS) is now recognised by the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence. Valid awardees of GOALS will be entitled to receive a bonus point in stage 2 assessment of the Sectoral Awards Scheme. Details are as follows:
- The Environmental Campaign Committee has granted recognition to GOALS in relation to the assessment of the Sectoral Awards scheme of the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE). The valid awardees of GOALS are now entitled to receiving a bonus point in the Stage 2 assessment of the Sectoral Awards Scheme.
- In light of this recognition, World Green Organisation (WGO) has given an exemption of 5 requirements out of its 25 or 30 requirements in best practices stipulated in the GOALS’ green audit scheme to HKAEE Sectoral Awardees when applying for GOALS.
- Additionally, WGO has also given an exemption of 3 requirements out of its 25 or 30 requirements in best practices stipulated in the GOALS’ green audit scheme to Energy Wise or Waste Wise, Carbon Less Awardees under HKAEE Scheme when applying for GOALS.
Over 150 companies’ offices have joined GOALS since last year, including multi-national and listed companies. The awardees were granted the usage rights of the United Nation’s “Better World Company” label and World Green Organisation’s “Green Office” label.
