World Green Organisation Launching Ceremony
World Green Organisation (WGO) held a launching ceremony at Asia Society Hong Kong Center today and over 200 guests attended. The Hon. Michael Lai, Board Member of WGO said, many people are suffering under the negative impacts of a bad environment, and that creates social and economic issues that we have to address. The Hon. Lam Woon-kwong, the Convenor of the Non-Official Member of the Executive Council, also deliver the speech for celebration of the founding of a new organisation.
Mr. Albert Oung, Founder & President of WGO said, “The world today is facing environmental menace of an unprecedented order. It is time for all of us to take action immediately to promulgate a green transformation.” Dr. William Yu, the Chief Executive Officer of WGO said, “The WGO is an independent, non-profit organisation concerned with global environmental issues and local social issues related to the environment. The WGO is a research-based think tank that brings together ‘Green Brains’ from across the world; we share policy wisdom and practical experience. We are also an action-oriented organization that participates in community programmes at a district level.”
In the ceremony, there is sand animation performance telling a story about the nature and human are in one. The children from Rosaryhill Kindergarten also sing the song “Little Sun”. WGO also invited the Diocesan Boys’ School (DBS) Choir to perform several songs expressing appreciation of the glorious world. DBS Choir won the World Championships over the past seven years in international choral competitions.
